June 4th: Great Tit - 1 adult & 3 juvs.
June 6th: 2 late eaters at 20:45 adult Goldfinch.
June 7th: Same number of Great Tit, one juv Dunnock.
June 8th: juv Goldfinch on niger feeder with 2 adults.
June 9th: adult Blue Tit feeding 3 juvs.
June 11th: late afternoon while in driveway heard the Jackdaws, counted 45 up and over having fun with a Common Gull. Could hear Magpies most of day as yet only seen one juv and neither adult. Black-headed Gull over.

May 30th: Dunnock juvenile and usual gang.
May 31st: Great Tit two juvs and usual gang.
June 1st: while weeding at back found an headless bird of Greenfinch size but it wasn't one, it was soaked with all rain we've had so couldn't ID it.
June 2nd: Swift - 2, both Magpie kicked up a racket most of day but no probs, hoping to see juvs soon. Nine Jackdaws having fun sky dancing. Oddly only one Common Gull. Plus usual gang.

May 21st: first Swift this year, two seen. Female Blackbird on fat ball feeder, Blue Tit, Great Tit adult + one juvenile, Jackdaw - 2, plus the usual.
May 24th: one adult Great It + two juveniles, female Blackbird, Common Gull - 5 kicking up a racket.
May 25th: pair of Blackbird collecting suet pellets in beak and flying to next door's tree, couldn't see any juvs but obviously there. Usual amount of Sparrows getting through the SFH and fat balls.
Really enjoying the antics of the hoggy/s and all the birds. Counting down the days till I venture out in car to lots of places I haven't visited in ages!

Not an happy ending sadly. I got up at 1pm and could hear a noise from box so at least it had survived the night, I looked in side and it was still lop sided but perky, after me porridge took it outside in box and told it there were at least two dozen of its mates feeding at front. Opened box and took it out placed near the water dish and it just fell over, picked it up and tried giving it a drink but it wasn't interested, left it be and went inside. Watched its mates on feeders etc for a while but they took no notice. Two hours later I heard the magpie's calling , their brood must be getting bigger .
At 15:30 the sparrow was still there but at 15:45 it had gone! Assume either the magpie or cat got it. I did my best for it but that's nature it would provide a meal for something.

I don't think you're soft at all John. Anyone with the slightest ounce of compassion would do the same. Anyone who is a birder, and uses this site will be more than aware how cruel nature can be, so offering any help to injured birds (or animals) would only be applauded in my estimation.
