Went to Farmers Lane the day after John texted me about his sightings. Also saw Merlin take a small bird out of a flock of Goldfinch & Linnet. Very large flocks of both flying around plus a huge influx of winter thrushes.

Chris,
why haven't you included my Merlin sighting at Farmer's Lane it's rare to see one on the sightings list and even more rare to see one round my patch. Am shocked! Can you tell the reason please? Thanks for putting some of my other sightings on.

John

Very sorry I put my "Local Patch and Beyond" on "My Garden"  thread just realised, think I was so tired when I got home and later I was in bed by 9pm which is most unlike me.

Think I was still in shock at getting the Merlin!!
