After I posted last night I remembered that every time I am logged in I always look who else is logged in and one name came to notice  Phil Hyde have seen many times, daresay he is collecting sightings for the record's.

On the forum Home Page where the latest Twitter sightings can be viewed Frampton is on almost daily and a selection of sightings are on Latest News. Deeping , Trent Port, Marston, and lots of places south and east of Market Rasen can be found on the Twitter feed when it's working properly.

Thanks for the response.  I think the Forum is an ideal platform for discussion such as this.  In answer to Geoff's comment re the Forum not being open to non-members - I was at the AGM when it was voted by those in attendance not to allow non-members contributions.  Secondly to Chris - I should have said reports rather than records but I totally agree there are better ways of submitting records than by the Forum.  Ringers use DemOn, a programme where all their ringing records go direct to the BTO and can be viewed on the BTO Website - I use Bird Track as well for non-ringing sightings.  My original question was why virtually no reports from sites like Frampton, Freiston, Deeping Lakes, Bourne Woods etc. - any ideas?

I always post on Bird Track and then the Forum, it is a little time consuming but feel it is worth it to get the records out

I mostly agree with all these comments, but it is up to members to keep  the Forum bubbling.

Geoff is right - it was more vibrant when non-members were also able to post records, but the trouble was that the website became increasingly vulnerable to malicious spam.

Another consideration is that sightings posted on the Forum have to be copied manually in to our records system, which is laborious, while, as I understand it, access to sightings on Birdtrack, Ebird, Twitter etc is pretty well instantaneous.

However, I don't see why members can't follow the example of  those who post  first on Birdtrack, then share on the Forum.

If anyone wants to make a proposal re the Forum I can put it on the agenda of the next committee meeting subject to approval of the chairman.
,
And I am sure anyone wanting to serve on the committee will be welcomed with open arms.

I only use the forum to submit records but not as much as I should perhaps due to the lack of other users. I always thought it was a bad idea to close the forum for non members of the LBC.
I have tried to use the BTO app for recording but soon lose interest.

Thanks for your input Chris. Daresay the committee rarely if ever view the forum lol.
I own a smartphone and do sometimes use it on here if I can't be bothered stoking up the laptop. I used BirdTrack for many years but not for ten years or so. I prefer entering on here maybe it's an age thing.
