Almost didn't go out today but at last minute decided I would be only to Black Bank, and well pleased I did it was a brilliant few hours with lots of amazing sights!

Black Bank: 15.10 - 17.40 sunny and windy.

There was five tractors pulling assorted implements in most of the arable fields from the farm down to the owl box, its long time since I saw this amount of gulls etc I wonder if the drivers were birdwatchers they would get a far closer view than I did. The gulls, Starlings , corvids, Buzzards and lots more all feeding on the insects etc what a wonderful sight!!  Took quite a few pics and a couple of videos of gulls.
Checked best I could and there weren't any GBB or LBB among them.

Gulls - 1,000 (Common and Black-headed)
Starlings - c3,000  (they did a wee sky dance and left after feeding)
Buzzard - 5
Pied Wagtail - 12
Robin
Blackbird male feeding on hawthorn berrys.
Kestrel - 3
Yellowhammer - 33 (highlight of day) very close to lane.
Cormorant over
Rooks - 100

An excellent day!!

Regards

John  :)

Am out again, this could become habit. On way out came across a bad accident between car and motorcycle, won't say anymore, I didn't see it happen but it must have been not long before I got there cos no cops there just an ambulance!  On way home at 17.30 the road was closed both ways so had to turn round and go via East Butterwick! Really felt for the injured!

During trip out was hoping to find Redwing's/Fieldfare's, searched where I've seen plenty before but nowt, lots of bushes loaded with berries.

Fully understood, John - 'heartstrings' play a big part in the life of a birder.
