May 15th: juv Blackbird.
May 24th: Crow ahving a drink out butt lid. Juv Spuggy.
June 4th/5th: four juv Great tit plus one adult in weigelia. Juv spugs, starlings, goldfinch. adult Greenfinch, Chaffinches, Blackbirds, Wood pigeons, Feral Pigeons, C Doves, Spugs, Robin.
June 6th: Wood Pigeon making nest in cherry tree in front garden.
June 14th: two juv Dunnock.
July 4th: two juv Starling plus one adult.
July 7th: found three dead very tiny juv Blackbirds below nest, nest was still in one piece.
July 12th: After a long stay away a female Sprawk caught a Collared Dove (didn't see it happen) but it must have been within minutes of me pulling the blinds up, the bird was plucking the dove and the path was covered with feathers, sadly the dove was behind a water tub I have out for the birds, but after standing on a chair with my camera I managed to get two videos and some pics , they were ok but with obstructions in the way better than nowt. Something must have scared it because it left the bird have eaten, I picked it up and put it on top of the privet, it had gone later in day.
Cheers
John

Hi Jim,
Not written an article since I did one for Lincolnshire Life in 2005 having done one before for them in 2001, at least if I get to write for LBC this time I won't have to pay a member for the photos like I did before, I've got my own and plenty of them.
I must have written thousands of words on the three forums I have been a member of over the years and enjoyed every minute.
I'm still crocked up with my back and chest so not been watching much in the garden as every movement is very painful, plus my car is still crocked that's now five weeks I've been without it and no sign of it coming back![:( :(]()
Enjoying reading all the sightings especially the Hoopoe and what stunning pics they are, that bird has been on my wish list forever lol.
Regards
John

I think it's important that this info definitely should be included in the 2019 report. In fact, it's probably worth a feature article.
In the meantime, how about a write-up for a forthcoming newsletter?

April 17th: Brambling - 2m, Blue Tit's in and out box.
April 18th: Brambling - 2m
April 19th: Brambling - 1m
If 79 consecutive days in a garden isn't a record for Lincs it ought to be! And I'll put money on I don't get a mention in the 2019 bird report lol. Every day the birds were here made my day and made me forget about my health. I look forward to their return next back-end.
Cheers
John

The Brambling have now been here 74 days non-stop, the last two days I haven't been watching as much as usual because I have injured my back as well as my chest, so spending as much time sat as poss, plus now all the leaves are on the trees where the feeders are its so much harder to find them, excuses, but true. Expecting them to leave anytime soon.
Regards
John
