Sept 8th: Blue Tit - 4 ....
Sept 16th: LT Tit - 2 ...
Sept 23rd: LT Tit - 5 ...
Oct 8th: LT Tit - 6 on fat slab and nuts.
Oct 10th: Dead Goldfinch below kitchen window.
Oct 17th: Coal, Blue and Great Tit ...

Come hail, rain, wind, sun etc both gardens are always full of birds each and every day: upwards of four to five dozen House Sparrow, c30 Goldfinch, Greenfinches, Chaffinches, Feral Pigeons , Wood Pigeons, C Doves, sadly only two Blackbirds no idea why, the Hawthorns, Rowan, Cherries are all loaded with berries, most of the rowan ones are going bad, usually by now the Blackbirds and Starlings have eaten them all. Very few Starlings coming of late but plenty seen in neighbourhood. Today had two Dunnock as well as the Blue & Great Tits hammering away at the sunflower hearts and peanuts. Keeping an eye out for the Bramblings just in case, but far to early as yet.

Cheers
JTG

Aug 3rd: Flying ant evening with 100s of gulls (mostly Common & Black-head), Swifts and House Marten's up for best part of an hour, what a fantastic sight seen from the comfort of my garden chair!
Aug 5th: Goldfinch - 2 juvs seen by my visitor but I saw them later.
Aug 6th: Robin - one juv.
Aug 10th: LT Tit - 2, Blue/Great Tits,
Aug 12th: Blue Tit - 6, Spuggys best part of four dozen plus one juv, Blackbird - one juv, Great Tits, Goldfinches, Collared Dove, Chaffinches, thankfully the feral pigeons went over a week ago and hopefully won't come back!

Can't keep pace with spuggys be it seeds or nuts or fat balls/slabs, thankfully a large part of the shrubs are in seed.

Thanks, John interesting stuff.

In our garden yesterday, I watched a house sparrow nibbling the remnants of snail shells scattered by song thrush activity.

Presumably , it supplied grittiness for the spadger ,
