Last night I replied to David's sightings of 20+ Siskins saying its about five year since any visited my garden, on checking log books it's more like ten plus years.

Today I was making a mug of tea at 2pm and as usual for past few days next to nowt in back garden, on the feeder furthest away from house could see a bird, thinking it was most likely a Goldfinch, anyway got bins and looked and couldn't believe my luck it was a female Siskin LOL then another landed on same feeder, so fetched camera and took a few shots, ten minutes later a male landed next to feeder (feeder only has two ports that work) so managed to take a few shots of all three, they stayed ten minutes then flew off and came back with the male and female feeding with a female on branch. At about 4pm spotted a female on a feeder closer to house, took some shots and a video which I'll post on Lincs Wildlife (Fb).

If Stuart and David hadn't mentioned their sightings I wouldn't have been looking for any, think they both brought me luck!!  Plus other birds have returned today in small numbers.

Siskin - 2f 1m
Crow - 2 both top of conifer
Magpie - 1 fly over
Goldfinch - 8
Greenfinch - 2
Feral Pigeon - 8
Spuggies - lots

Siskins made my year!

John :)

What I didn't mention was that I'd had a wee chat with the spuggies telling them of the shortage of their relatives in N Somercotes, so one told me they would send a message to the local branch of that area and ask if they can fly round to all the dwellings to show the humans that they are still around. It did ask me if I had the postcode of my friends house, I said no I didn't but it said not to worry we will look for the feeders, BTW your friend does have feeders, I said I assume so.  So my garden spuggies did me a favour sending a male to visit you with the hope you get a few more to join asap.  Tomorrow I'll give them a special treat of some wettened brioche they love that dry or wet.

Regards

Max & the Spuggy gang :)
