Interesting how Grimsby Telegraph have gone to town on it. If it had been something like a garganey, it wouldn't have got a line.
Also of note is the extent of appreciation from those who have seen it. In effect, it has been twitched by non-birders. I'd like to think they could be accommodated and welcomed as members of the LBC.

Boating lake this morning, having no bother from the Mutes and taking bread from the walkers.

Thanks Stuart. As of this afternoon, the bird had relocated to Cleethorpes boating lake where it was alone among 22 mute swans. The aggression was all coming from two of the mutes which bullied it off the lake on to the adjacent path and grassland, then wouldn’t allow it back on to the water.

The only one I knew of in the area was one at Kenwick Park Golf Club a couple of years ago. Their aggressive nature may not be a good thing for the resident Mute Swans.
