A quick hour this evening, just as the weather turned sunny after a rather damp, grey day.
Good to see the Avocet chicks doing well, along with a few Lapwing chicks too. Blackheads still on nests, but a couple of chicks in the mix amongst them. It was a hive of activity along the main lagoon edge as the sun came out and the insects went into overdrive. This activity brought out a rather splendid Yellowhammer, who was cramming as much in his beak as possible. Also a pair of yellow Wagtails running up and down the waters edge too. The first fox I have seen at the site made an appearance up near the pump house, wagtails keeping a few feet in front of him/her.
