Dear Jim
Is there anybody we can lobby to get this off the ‘Back Burner’. For example local councillor or Martin Vickers?
Regards
Joy (and hubby John)

Unfortunately, this planning application is not proceeding with much urgency. I checked with the council's planning officer who was unable to indicate when a decision might be made. She said the application was "on hold" pending further comments from consultees.,

Jim, there have now been further documents posted on the NE Lincs Planning site with respect to this planning application (latest document posted on 25/6/18). From what I can make out it appears that National Grid has now withdrawn it's objection (document dated 12/6/18).
Hopefully this means that we are now nearer commencement of this exciting project!

Regards

Jon

There has been a glitch. National Grid is objecting because the site is crossed by high-voltage overhead power lines and an underground high-pressure gas pipeline.
In addition, neighbouring landowners and the Environment Agency have expressed concerns about potential flooding/drainage issues.
These matters will need to be resolved if the project is to go ahead.

Thanks Jim for posting this information. Like James, I had no knowledge of this proposal....and I live in Healing! It’s potentially very exciting, so long as it’s going to be maintained and managed properly, as you say. It could be a lovely local amenity for us birders ....and the birds, of course! I’ll watch this space with tempered anticipation!

The comments of the RSPB and the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust have now been put on line.

Slightly disappointing that neither has suggested a potential role for the LBC or the Grimsby RSPB group in monitoring species.

I have written to ask for LBC to be permitted attendance at meetings of the South Humber Ecology Group which seems to be steering the project.
