Message for Chris Grimshaw,
FARMERS LANE will in future be reported as BURRINGHAM that way you won't need to put a ? next to any sighting/s coming from there as you did with the Osprey I saw on the 25th November. I will change the location from Farmers Lane to Burringham in a moment and inform the main recorder as well in case any future problems occur.
Kind regards
John

Tripplinghows Bridleway - Northmoor Road - Yaddlethorpe: 12.30 - 14.30 sunny and cool.
Linnet - 300
Common Gull - 14
Robin - 1
Crow - 20
Chaffinch - 18
Feral Pigeon - 22
Buzzard - 1
Rook - 29
Cormorant - 1
BURRINGHAM: 14.50 - 16.00
Osprey with pics (made my day) never expected to find it there, it left at 15.45.
Kestrel - 4
Buzzard - 2
Grey Heron - 1
Lapwing - 32
Pink feet - c500 at rest
Assorted Gulls - c1000 going to roost
Going to Farmers Lane (Burringham) was on the off chance summat might be there, not been to other site in six months, so both paid dividends.
John![:) :)]()
PS: Today the 5th December I changed the site name of Farmers Lane to Burringham so Mr Grimshaw knows where my sightings are coming from.
Kind regards
John

Last edit: 05 Dec 2023 05:49 by John T Goy. Reason: TO CHANGE THE NAME OF FARMERS LANE TO BURRINGHAM BECAUSE CHRIS GRIMSHAW DIDN'T KNOW WHERE THE FORMER WAS WHEN HE PUT MY OSPREY SIGHTING ON LATEST NEWS ON NOVEMBER 25TH!

Had early start:
East Butterwick:
Roe Deer - 7
Fieldfare - 6
Lapwing - 60
Black Bank:
Roe Deer - 2
Fieldfare - 40
Common Gull - 60
Pied Wag - 2
Blackbird - 6
Goldfinch - 7
Mute Swan - 2 adult + 1 juv
Moorhen - 12
Yaddlethorpe Fish Ponds:
After a call from AH diverted to the ponds to see the Osprey on my patch, got some pics. Well chuffed! Told a couple of pals last week I wouldn't be surprised if it stays here rather than going to Africa etc, there are at least twelve fishing pond sites (and some have a good number of ponds within). in and around Scunny most of which are close by to Yaddlethorpe, so if we have a mild winter there is plenty of food for the bird. Yaddlethorpe is only about two miles from my house.
Cheers

Let's hope it sets a new trend.
