Weather: Sunny, warm, SE wind
Time on site: 13:30-14:45

Recorded during the visit to site:

Avocet    7 - all on one of the islands in the lagoon
Black-headed Gull    17 - on the lagoon or islands in the lagoon
Blackcap    1 - singing from within Hawthorn bush next to the path to the hide
Canada Goose    2 - both on the "Field Scrapes" area
Chiffchaff    1 - heard singing from the within the large hedge that borders the site, adjacent to the railway line.
Cormorant    1 - on the lagoon
Gadwall    5 - all on the lagoon
Grey Heron    2 - both on one of the islands in the lagoon
Herring Gull    present - I didn't count the gulls during the visit. 
Lapwing    9 - four on the "Field Scrapes" and five on islands in the lagoon
Lesser Black-backed Gull    present - I didn't count the gulls during the visit. 
Linnet    2 
Little Egret    3 - all on the "Field Scrapes" area of the site
Little Grebe    2 - both on the lagoon
Little Ringed Plover    3 - all on the "Field Scrapes"
Mallard    4 
Mute Swan    6 - two on the "Field Scrapes" and four on the lagoon
Pied Wagtail    2
Shelduck    7 - birds on both the "Field Scrapes" and the lagoon
Skylark    3 
Stock Dove    2
Tufted Duck    5 - two on the "Field Scrapes" and three on the lagoon
Wheatear    1 - on a dried up scrape within the "Pylon Scrapes" area of site
Whitethroat    1 - singing from within a Hawthorn bush adjacent to the path to the hide
Wood Sandpiper    1 - feeding along the edge of the scrape nearest to the path in the "Field Scrape" area. Not visible from the path as hidden behind bank, however, viewable through scope from the hide.
Yellowhammer    1 - perched on top of Hawthorn bush next to the path to the hide.
Roe Deer    2 - both on the "Field Scrapes" area of the site.

A visit to site earlier this afternoon found the following present:

Avocet    9 - all on one of the islands in the lagoon
Black Swan    1 - on the "Field Scrapes" area with eight Mute Swans. Presume this is the same bird that was present at Cleethorpes Boating Lake?
Black-headed Gull    15 - all on the lagoon
Buzzard    1 - soaring over the "Pylon Scrapes"
Carrion Crow    3
Chiffchaff    1 - singing from trees near the car parking area
Gadwall    6 - two on the "Field Scrapes" and four on the lagoon
Goldfinch    1
Great Black-backed Gull    1 - on one of the islands in the lagoon
Grey Heron    2 - one on the "Field Scrapes" and one on the "Pylon Scrapes"
Greylag Goose    5 - all on the "Field Scrapes"
Herring Gull    65 - all on one of the islands in the lagoon
Lapwing    4
Lesser Black-backed Gull    30 - all on one of the islands in the lagoon
Little Egret    4 - three on the "Pylon Scrapes" and one on one of the islands in the lagoon
Little Grebe    4 - all on the lagoon
Little Ringed Plover    3 - two on the "Field Scrapes" and one on one of the islands in the lagoon

Mallard    6 - two on the "Pylon Scrapes" and four on the lagoon
Mute Swan    9 - eight on the "Field Scrapes" and one on the lagoon
Oystercatcher    1 - on one of the islands in the lagoon

Shoveler    2 - both on the lagoon
Skylark    3 - one singing over the "Field Scrapes" and two singing over the "Pylon Scrapes"
Song Thrush    1 - on singing from boundary hedge adjacent to the railway line
Starling    20 - all on the "Pylon Scrapes", following the herd of cattle
Teal     2 - both on the lagoon
Tufted Duck    10 - two on the "Field Scrapes" and eight on the lagoon
Wheatear    2 -both on the "Pylon Scrapes" next to the main path
Woodpigeon    5
Yellow Wagtail    2 - both on the  bank of the lagoon, immediately in front of the hide

Roe Deer    1 - female on the "Hide Scrape" area of site

Orange Tip Butterfly    1 - along the main path. My first butterfly sighting of the year at Cress Marsh.

Greenshank    1 - feeding around the edge pf the lagoon
Greylag Goose    14 - all on the "Field Scrapes"
Herring Gull    80 - all on one of the islands in the lagoon
Lapwing    6 - at various locations around site
Lesser Black-backed Gull    10 - all on one of the islands in the lagoon
Linnet    4 - feeding next to the main path
