Visited 12th May 2022
15:45 - 16:15
Swallow 3
Skylark 2 singing above field before hide
Yellowhammer 1 on hawthorn along path
Wheatear 1 on pathway fence post
Avocet 6 on main lagoon
Cormorant 1 on main lagoon
GreyLag goose 7
Canada Goose 2
Shelduck 8
Pochard 2
Lapwing 4
Little Grebe 4
Tufted Duck 6
Mute Swan 5
Pied Wagtail 1
Song Thrush 1 on fence post at hide
Little Ringed Plover 1
Didn’t have time to count gulls but Black Headed, Herring and Gt Black Back present in numbers, also large number of immature Herring and GBB
Many immature HG and GBB’s on island of main lagoon, one observed to have detritus hanging from its bill. Looks like clear netting in which is tangled a dark ping-pong ball sized object. It didn’t seem to interfere too much with preening but being attached to the bill is of concern.

Hi Glen,
Unfortunately, Cress Marsh is a private site that is managed by NE Lincs Council. You have to contact the Council's Ecology Officer to get permission to visit site.
I don't have the contact email address to hand - I am working away from home until the end of the week, but can "dig" it out when I get back home for you.
