18th March: Dead Wood Pigeon below front lounge window, from the amount of meat left on it, only presume the female Sprawk was disturbed by postie, pity it didn't take one of feral pigeons but they rarely go in front garden whereas the WP do each day.
20th & 21st March: LT Tit - 4 each day.
1st April: Blackbird building nest in ivy in front garden, pair of Wood Pigeon building nest in conifer end of back garden,
2nd April: long time since I saw two Robin feeding side by side in front garden. C Dove returned, as have the Goldfinches, Greenfinches, visit from the Magpie, two Great Tit, two Blue Tit and of course each day upwards of 30 spuggies mostly in front garden.
Regards
John

Didn't realise it was so long I hadn't put owt down.
Feb 23rd: Jackdaw - 19
Feb 24th: Coal Tit
March 1st: Magpie, Dunnock & pair Great Tit.
March 5th: Sprawk over.
March 14th: LT Tit - 4
Also in garden each day is at least three dozen House Spuggies most of which are in front garden (their territory) plus c30 Feral Pigeons, a pair of Wood Pigeons, a few Goldfinch, same Greenfinch, same Chaffinch, a pair of Collared Dove, pair of Blackbird, two Blue Tit, same Great Tit, upwards of 15 Common Gull and a single Black-head gull, Magpie & Crow.
Washed feeders for a change and broke one in process, but still got 113 left, which enough for me.
Looking forward to shielding ending 31st March unless I hear different. Won't go far though just down to BB and see if I can do as well as AH lol doubt it .
No one puts sightings down for Carr Dyke bar me and not done that since 2019, been going there off and on for more than 60 years, hope to get Yellow Wag as is usual and to see if the pair of Kestrel and pair of Buzz still there. Pity the Marsh Harrier isn't there any more. I wonder if the new roundabout has been started close by?
Cheers
John

On the 17th Jan had another feeding frenzy , this time with pork rind, had 11 common and 1 black-headed Gull.
On the 27th the male Sprawk landed on the path next to the Spuggies fave hide-out (variegated holly) but none there, camera not handy.
Next day it was back this time perched about five feet above the feeders in the conifer, but again they weren't there, it stayed 30 mins and left MT. Came again the 30th and sat in same place with a couple of sweeps up and down garden but again the birds nowhere to be seen. Keep coming mate and next time bring the missus to cull a few of the feral pigeons which now number 30 grrrrrrrr!
Noticed two of the chaffinches with white canker of their legs but it doesn't stop them feeding.
Regards

The gulls etc had to wait for the scraps but alas not from the Xmas dinner, it was a disaster and least said about that the better! I did a lamb stew on the 3rd and yesterday chucked out the lumps of fat I'd cut off, and put them on the A-shaped garage roof which always causes problems for the gulls landing, it took them 30 mins to work out how to land on the slope, a Black-headed one came first then must have gone for the gang cos best part of 20 came but they were all Common along with 2 Jackdaws, the birds devoured the fat in twenty secs! Enjoyed the frenzy.
On the 2nd & 3rd had a Coal Tit on the nuts along with ever increasing Blue Tit gang plus the great Tit, waiting for the LT Tits to come.
c70 Starlings flew over followed closely by my arch enemy the feral pigs all thirty of them Grrrrr. Robin popped in along with the Chaffinches, Greenfinches, Goldfinches, Spuggies, Pr C Dove, Pr Blackbird & Crow.
Now the BJ has announced new rules for England I'm even more determined to stay put, hoping to see a wider selection of birds visit to keep me happy.
Regards
