Do sometimes go round BB but not so frequent. We are in Norfolk for a week later this month and when we get back we will be starting to restock the BB feeding station so should start getting sightings around the area,

Alan,

meant asking you for a while do you still get to B Beck you had some damn good sightings during the lockdowns? My mate also went a few times last year and had similar to yourself.

Yes its always handy to keep our eyes peeled when out and about be it with the bins or without, my old mate Dave Johnson (R.I.P.) always pulled my leg about walking about and not looking up, he would say how much I missed by not looking up to which I replied if I looked up all the time I'd miss lots of ground level stuff.

Yes I did read your message re MSQ and will at some point visit. Had arranged to take my mate out on friday (but not MSQ was going to visit lots of places around north lincs) but had to cancel due to being so weak, really struggling with  my weight! All being well may get out next week.

Cheers

We are also baffled as there are plenty of starlings around us but none coming into the garden, same with blackbirds. There is a flock of at least 80 goldfinch near us with as many as 20 at a time on the feeders.

Just been in Ashby and had a skein of pinkfeet fly over and then a low flying sparrowhawk . Always something about if you keep your eyes open!

Did you get my message that turning out of msq is easy now due to the verges being cut?

Oct 6th: Today enjoyed watching antics of a gang of nine Blue Tit and four Great Tit flitting back and forth to the feeders and the Hawthorn Trees which are absolutely full of berries, the Bluey's are nibbling at the fruit (never seen them do that), at first thought they were getting caterpillars and spiders but on closer inspection it's the fruit. They have a wee bit then fly to the nuts and this goes on most of day, spotted them in next doors siberian cherry, they didn't eat the berries they looked to playing tag lol. Although I have black sunflower seeds there the tits prefer the nuts. Getting quite a little gang of them. On the seed feeders was three Goldfinch, five Greenfinch, one Chaffinch with the beginnings of the canker on it's legs, two Dunnock in front garden getting the fat ball scraps off floor that the Spuggies have dropped. Also have two C Dove, thankfully only one Feral Pigeon.

What I find really odd is no Starlings or Blackbirds seen for best part of a month, by now they would have stripped the Rowan, the three Hawthorns and the assorted cherries, but all bar the rowan all are heaving with fruit. Roll on a bad winter in Scandinavia and let the Waxwings come and gorge themselves on my fruit, fingers crossed.
