The number of birds are increasing daily now I've started putting seed out as well as sfh, fb and nuts. Biggest change has been the number of greenfinches coming a week ago it was one and today it was ten, with chaffinches upto 6 , about three dozen starlings came and it was bedlam for ten mins but the smaller birds weren't taking none of it they got stuck in despite the starlings bullying them, good for them I HATE bullies.
Also had the three usual tits - blue, great and coal, the army of spuggies, a pair of Blackbirds, the feral pigs who for a change were totally outnumbered (GOOD), the c doves, wood pigs, five goldfinch (slowly returning), a magpie coming most days (most likely for the fb), a couple of common gulls every day hoping i chuck some scraps on garage roof (come at xmas and you will get a few pheasant scarps) .
Keeping eye out (not literally lol) for the goldcrest in conifer. Also hoping for Brambling again now that the chaffinch are increasing. Not seen a robin lately maybe waiting for xmas lol.
Can I wish the members a safe and happy xmas despite the threat of you-know- what! Just in case I forget next week.
Regards
Max

Nov 17th: Sprawk mobbed by gull.
Nov 18th: Sprawk on its own.
Nov 21st: Four year since my mate DJ passed away![:( :(]()
Nov 26th: Common Gull, Grt Tit - 2, Blue Tit - 2, Blackbird - 5, Robin, Goldfinch, Greenfinch and lots of Spuggys.
Dec 8th: Before filling feeders had Great Tit - 2, Coal Tit - 2, Blue Tit - 5, then later a Greenfinch, Goldfinch, C Dove (not had any for ages), Feral Pigs - 20, Wood Pigeon - 2, Common Gull, Dunnock - 2, Chaffinch - 5, Spuggy - c30, Magpie, Starlings and Blackbird.
Now I have repositioned the feeders under the conifer I don't mind the "hoovers" aka Feral Pigs congregating at far end of back garden, at least they got less chance of bringing the fairy lights down at house end. Things are picking up now. One day I may get a Nuthatch to visit and a Waxwing lol.
Regards
John

Great stuff, my first trip down there was seeing several Redshank in dyke.
Do you ever visit Carr Dyke Pumping station another of my fave areas often had decent sightings and always went round back to check on the fish etc, at one time a Kingfisher hung out next to the grating. Almost always saw buzz, kestrel, yellow wag and lots more, don't want to tell forum all my info lol. At one time of day often got Marsh Harriers over plus Osprey. Although the dyke goes under M180 and out by the old Butterwick Road I much preferred the other side parking next to pumping station. Very few ever report from there. Maybe think it's pointless, wrong! I first visited more than sixty years ago when there was a massive pike reported lol.
Look forward to reading BB reports.

Alan, can I ask a favour? My email address is in profile not sure if you can access it if not will give you my mobile number. When you go to Black Bank could you tell me your sightings even down to our popular tits etc. I really miss going to my local patch and always thought that BB is best in winter especially at the feeding station. BB replaced Worlaby for me in fact it is and maybe still equal to it at times. I often parked at the last bridge before Trent and watched the stoat, weasel and water vole.
No probs if you don't want to.

Max
