Sure I found out the culprit of the wood pigeon juvs disappearance, a local cat was seen shinning up front garden cherry tree, so I took aim with the water pistol lol and it came down much quicker than it went up lol.

Aug 12th: wood pigeon juv in conifer. Adult wood pig on new nest.
Aug 13th: Sprawk overhead.
Aug 20th: Mallard over, Common Gull eight over, Wood pigeon still sat on nest.

The two wood pigeon juvs have gone, noticed on saturday they were no longer on nest, so summat must have nabbed them, they were in clear view of owt flying over, any ideas? Magpie maybe. Anyway on sunday noticed a pair of wood pigeon building a nest in the cherry tree in back garden, not sure if its same pair cos there have been two pair visiting of late, one been sat on nest all yesterday and the nest is very hard to see from owt overhead.

July 27th: saw two juv Wood Pigeon in the nest that is level with my bedroom window about six feet away in the cherry tree.
July 28th: Lots of adult Spuggys and two juvs.
July 30th: Spotted first House Martin this year overhead and later two Swift.
July 31st: Common Gull circling above. Oddly the flying ants not been up yet.

Aug 1st: Next door told me they had heard a strange laughing noise coming from one of my Hawthorn Trees twice this week at 08:30 ( I'm fast asleep at that time) , I asked if they saw it, no they didn't, but they couldn't get over the laugh. I went in and got my new smartfone and looked for the Green Woodie and its call, went out and called her over at a distance cos am still sheilding and played it, she said that is what I heard, so told her what it was. As yet I've not seen or heard it, but when I do it will be a new tick in garden! It's years since the GSW visited but the Green W is one of my favs.

Aug 3rd: Had 3 juv Great Tit on the peanut feeders along with an adult Blue TIt.

Regards

John
