Hi John

I think this bit is important of my earlier post

"The system re-sizes the images but please try not to upload huge files"

4mb is a huge file for a website to take, the normal limit is 400k so I suspect you are expecting to much of the system

The link below is a 99.4k image and 4mb (4000k) is more for printing than for the web, as the screen can only show 72dpi and i suspect yours are 300 or higher

lincsbirdclub.co.uk/site/images/igallery...-155-1200-800-80.jpg

Can you please email me one of your files (colin@lincsbirdclub.co.uk) so i can see it
Thanks
Colin

Hi Colin,
Av just spent best part of an hour going through all my photos and uploaded about a dozen but can't find them either in the members or public galleries. I clicked on Gallery Upload, then clicked on Choose File, then chose a photo, waited for it to show, then clicked Save, a message came up saying Message Saved Successfully, and followed suit with the rest of the photos, hope my time hasn't been wasted! You said to either me or Chris that the sizing is done automatically, with no mention of what single size we can submit, but not to upload a large file. I attempted to upload quite a few photos of 5 - 6 MB and they were not accepted it said the file was larger than 4000kb which I think is 4MB. HELP!!

Regards

John

Hi Chris

I have added a gallery for you to upload too

If you go to sightings you will see some new sub-menu items,
Public Gallery - Shows the last 20 images uploaded to all visitors
Members Gallery - show our galleries
Gallery upload - is where you can upload your images.
The system re-sizes the images but please try not to upload huge files

Thanks

On the subject of the forum, the issue is that we only have 330 members and 120 of those have never logged into the website
I don't think we do bad for so few active members

I replied to this yesterday but cannot find it today so perhaps I didn't press submit. I didn't notice this post until yesterday but I am happy to use my photos if you want. I for one was disappointed when the Album disappeared. Perhaps a new one will stimulate more viewers using the Forum as opposed to using Twitter. These seem to disappear into space very quickly. I do believe that the Forum needs some stimulus to regenerate interest and readership. This could be just what it needs especially if the phots don't need resizing which was a bind
