So, the Wildlife trusts are warning dog walkers about the risk of Avian Influenza, after 5 dead seals on a Cornish beach tested positive for the strain. This comes after foxes, otters and a dolphin also testing positive.
Good luck anyone who tries to tell one of our miscreants at Tetney about a risk. They would think you was scaremongering.

I think they should bring back the dog licence. It should be £100.00 plus the cost of a chip. Then, any dog found not having a licence or a chip should be sent for an injection, full stop.

This week watched a husky type dog chasing a roe deer , the dog never got anywhere near it but looked to be panting heavily when it stopped, deer went in wood, dog continued it's walkie with owner hundred yards away. Magpies were in same field but dog not interested.

I saw an estimate recently that there are about 82 million dogs in Europe. I suspect 99 per cent of those are in Lincolnshire.

As far as I am aware, those Tetney signs are advisory only  - even if the RSPB had the resources, I doubt whether they would take any action.

There are many more people who cherish dogs than there are people who cherish birds.

A fair few cherish both - but dogs ( their own) always take priority.

I am quite partial to spaniels, but I reckon they’re the worst when it comes to bird-chasing.

Yes, Nick, we noticed several dogs off lead on the marshes when we visited a few weeks ago. I love dogs but people often think you are criticising the dogs' behaviour when you try and explain to them about the disturbance when in fact it is the people's behaviour you are trying to amend!

These people either can't read or don't care or both! I rate them alongside litter louts! On my local patch (and daresay yours Nick) there are numerous signs up re fly tipping but no body takes slightest bit of notice, one area the council go every day to remove everything bar garden branches etc.

On one of my Facebook groups people complain about dog walkers using those extended leads allowing the dog to much free reign to do as it likes!

Not all dog owners are irresponsible but those that are, are a pain in the you know what!!

I've never owned a dog but like them.
