Doubt there'll be a book any time soon - I work full-time!

Excellent. Here's hoping you'll soon be writing your own book soon. There are far too few bird books by female authors - I expect publishers are in despair at how few manuscripts are submitted.

Very much a beginner myself. Now on day 47 of my LP-inspired bird watching challenge - spotted 47 species and have travelled no more than 7 miles from home.

I read LP’s book, too, and enjoyed it. Good to get a beginner’s perspective, and he’s candid about the superior, sometimes snooty, attitude of some experts.

I read 'Why do birds suddenly disappear?' by Lev Parikian. A light-hearted yet compulsive account of his attempts to spot 200 birds in a year. It has inspired my own little challenge.

I will definitely read it, thanks for the recommendation. I also read Wilding and George Monbiot’s Feral which, I agree, should be compulsory reading for everyone.

Cheers Pete.
