Believe the caterpillar is a Broom Moth.

Found today on Rowan not sure as yet what it is other than moth caterpillar 
















Anyone know what it is?

On Feb 18th the Large Yellow Underwing moth arrived and last night it "departed" not sure how.  While getting tea ready at 7.15pm spotted it on floor near fridge/freezer I assumed it was alive so picked it up to find it wasn't, what a shock, okay it's only a moth but I was hoping it would still be here come June when they are on the wing. The other day found it on top of the freezer door slot it stayed there two days, it spent most days either on kitchen window or ledge or next to microwave or my old meat safe. I could go many days and never see it thinking it had flown out door but it would resurface and surprise me.  Call me a silly old sod but not bothered, after it nearly drowned in washing up bowl I always kept kitchen light on and made sure it had a sugar solution for a drink.  I've placed it next to a Small Tortoiseshell which died two years ago on my drinks tray in dining room

Hope something else pops in for drink etc for a bit of company.

Tonight finally seen LYU having a drink of sugar solution, done several videos and couple of pics, here is one.

It's decided to hang out in what was pantry tiny window behind a box, it seems to choose the coldest parts of kitchen.

On advice have put out a sugar water solution soaked in to a page of kitchen roll and placed on a plate in hope it bucks it up.
