I had the same bird today. The flag has 3 letters but I only got the first two "EC" as it was too far out. I emailed the scheme to see if they could work out the last letter.

Phill Espin has chased up the Mablethorpe Purple Sandpiper and it was ringed in the Svalbard in Aug 2021 and this is the first sighting of it.

I seem to remember other posts I have originated, with Godwits sporting rings. One was ringed in Norfolk, but another was ringed in France, Reserve Naturelle Moeze-Oléron

The Purple Sand at Mablethorpe was similar: green flag on one leg, orange ring on the other, plus what looked like a BTO ring. Your Godwit looked to have a BTO type ring on the red ring leg too Nick
