At least I'm not the only one.

Ahead of the sale on October 7, I suggested to Tennants of Leyburn that they might reconsider their 'dove' identification.

But they're not budging - so a dove it remains.

(Terrific painting, incidentally, by an overlooked artist. I think it will sell for more than top estimate.)

Sheer carelessness by me. I shall beat myself up about that until at least the end of next month. I never want to see a stonechat or whinchat again - they'll only remind me!

Thanks Chris - you may well be right on that. I better take down my Twitter post without delay!
