DUCK I.D.? was created by Nick Coulbeck
This duck was on Blow well no.1 this morning at Tetney. Was with a pair of Tufted drakes and one hen. At first I thought it was a Gadwall, but the colours are more chocolate, and it didn't seem to have that grainy breast area associated with Gadwall. The last two pictures are a better indication of colour, the other pictures where toward the sun which tended to silhouette the bird  and darken its colouring. Unfortunately, trying to get a decent picture around the well is hard and the bird always swam away from me.

Any suggestions?
