Hi Colin,
We haven't ringed them since 2016 as Herons started nesting amongst them.  They fledge earlier and the would have been unnecessarily disturbed if we had visited the site to ring the Egrets.

250,000 up! was created by Stuart Britton
The Mid Lincs Ringing Group was formed in 1974 and on 3rd July the 250,000th bird was ringed since its formation. Fittingly it was a juvenile Starling ringed by Adrian Slater whilst he was doing his Re-trapping Adults for Survival (RAS) project for the BTO.  45 different ringers have at some time been  the Group and 137 different species have been ringed in the county including Little Auk, Thrush Nightingale, Little Bunting and White-throated Sparrow.  The MLRG has participated in several BTO projects including RAS, Constant Effort Scheme, Barn Owl Monitoring Programme and the Nest Record Scheme.  Our most recent project was to build the first artificial Sand Martin "Bank" in the county where we are able to ring the nestlings.
