Some disappointing news.

Cairngorm Travel have taken the commercial decision to cancel the proposed LBC birding holiday to Northumberland in early November.

As of the start of this week, there had been 18 passengers booked. This was two short of the minimum of 20 required to make the holiday viable

.I hoped some potential new bookings in October would take the roll to 20 and beyond, but Cairngorm Travel were  less confident.

The company has advised me accordingly and will contact those who have booked to confirm refund arrangements.

I apologise to those LBC members who have booked and who would have been looking forward to our stay in Alnwick and to birding destinations such as Holy Island.

It is  a most unwelcome bolt from the blue.

I shall be gutted if a 'mega' turns up  in Northumberland during the five days when we would have been there!
