Thanks Stuart,

I will visit a site just off my patch and see if a pair of Nuthatch have had any young this year, have not been able to visit the past three years, last time I did they had at least two young as I saw the parents feeding them from my car.

This morning I checked the 10 nest boxes I have been monitoring in a private garden at Osgodby.  One of them contained 5 well feathered Nuthatches which were duly ringed - the first Nuthatch nestlings to be ringed by the Mid-Lincs RG since its' formation in 1976 and the first in Lincolnshire since 2016.  Because the birds use mud to reduce the nest hole size they almost always use natural sites rather than Tit boxes.
