It must be satisfying to have one your birds controlled so far away. It all adds to our knowledge of what birds do and where they go.

A nestling Sand Martin ringed on 12/6/2004 at the Mid Lincs RG artificial Sand Martin Bank near Donington on Bain has subsequently been re-trapped by French ringers.  It was caught at a roost in the Gironde region of France just north of Bordeaux on 13/8/2004 having travelled 897km.!
