Walesby Moor Ringing

I have been ringing beside two ponds for many years though the vegetation is now very high and quite a few birds fly over the nets.  I went there this morning as it is a good site for early migrants and caught 1 Robin, 2 Great Tits, 2 Blue Tits, 1 Willow Warbler, 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Treecreeper, 2 Long-tailed Tits, 1 Song Thrush and a Willow Tit.  Willow Tits are now very scarce in the area and only one was ringed last year - this one was a male so let's hope it finds a mate.  Checking through old records, we ringed 34 one year in the 1980's - those days are long gone.
