A Red-tailed Cuckoo Bumblebee caught my eye yesterday and today on the yellow, daisy-like Gaillardia flowers in the raised border of my Cleethorpes garden, mainly because of its size and all black colour (apart from its reddish tail tip). I do not recall ever seeing one before, but not suggesting it may be a rarity. It is quite stunning, with its black, glossy wings. It is quite lethargic, but feeding on the same flowers and appearing otherwise healthy.
