On Aug 10th looked out back window of lounge and spotted what I thought was an Hornet on the buddleia, having never seen one before I wasn't sure, so consulted guide book and sent a pic to my regular birding mate, he replied saying it was a Hornet Hover Fly he had seen lots of them abroard. It was massive and the wings were nearly an inch long, got plenty of pics and a few videos, not great but okay. Another garden tick!

Regards

John

My Garden 2019 was created by John T Goy
June 1st: New tick for garden, White Campion and is still in flower July 17th. Also this year after a good few years break had Red Poppy.

June 14th: Spotted Frog in pond.

On my birthday July 5th was sat in garden and spotted what looked to be a female Hedgehog having a drink. Not seen one for a few years, there are still two boxes for them to reside in, not seen it since.
