Up to today i thought last Wednesday was my best day of year, today wow it was butterfly heaven!
Peacock - 23 all were on the buddleia bar one on the raspberry leaves (got cracking pic on it)
Red Admiral - 3 on the buddleia.
Small T/shell - 3 on the buddleia
Speckled Wood - 2 on the ribes and raspberry.
Holly Blue - 1 on the rowan
Best sighting of this lot was Painted Lady - 2 on buddleia , not seen any for years.
GV White - 2 on raspberry.
Large & Small White - lots on buddleia, magnolia etc.
Hope Freddy is reading this also got a single Gatekeeper on the buddleia leaves whereas all the others were on the flowers and it went on the magnolia leaves, tried my best to capture a photo but to no avail. Hoping it will return tomorrow etc. Not often I get ten species in garden!
Regards
John
