Beauty was created by John Walker
whilst walking the ST nnr dunes near CL 040718 early afternoon in sunshine with an easterly f2 a large dark butterfly with pale edge to wings
flying strongly went past me heading west, about 90 minutes later Matt Blisset (LWT warden ) who was strimming footpath near Crook Bank
phoned me to say he had just had a similar experience ,he thinks it may have been on a flowering privet as he went past, the only butterflies of such description I know of are Camberwell Beauties , there are hundreds of siver y moths on various flowers in the dunes, and red admirals and small tortoiseshells are also more numerous this week.
regards John
