Replied by Peter Crick on topic Buck Beck Cleethorpes
Between Belvoir Rd and main Grimsby Road Bridge this morning
Surprised to see a Little Grebe fly onto the water and proceed to dive. First time seen this far up the Beck
Almost immediately a Fingfisher flew over it and perched on shrubbery before diving and then flying to perch by main road bridge.
Jay also showing well and chattering on bankside hedge.
An hours walk amongst the trees etc on the western side of Cleethorpes Country Park produced only Gt Tit, Robin, Goldfinch, Greenfinch and Blackbird. Surprisingly very quiet

A lunch time walk along Buck Beck from Belvoir Rd to BMX track produced eighteen species
Mostly usual species but also a large number of Greenfinch, one Little Egret, two Mistle Thrushes
and a Gt Spotted Woodpecker - a first for me in this area
Maybe it was one of these Mistles heard singing from a perch near the Annie Chapel Centre before dusk.
