Persistence has paid off!
9 Shore Larks showing well at around 4pm, about 50 yards south of tower with chequered roof. They were on their own: a separate flock of approx 40 Twite were very mobile.

It was my third time lucky. The flock is mobile so I suppose it could be anywhere. They were observed from the path and it was interesting that they were with the Twite flock and not the 6 or 7 Skylarks also pecking about.

Good luck!

Thanks Pete for your report.
I have had 3 frustratingly unsuccessful attempts to see this group of Shore Larks. Are they very mobile or are they staying in same area; are they visible from the permitted path or do you have to venture further out towards the sea... though this would be on ‘bombing range’ so I’m sure this is not likely?!

2 Shags at Covenham Reservoir

6 Shore larks at Donna Nook with a flock of 25 Twite. These were on the sand at the last observation building with the black and yellow checked roof. I got a good view for 20 minutes until a typhoon dropping flares spooked them.
Also a Merlin out on the sand bank
