Hi Max,

they were right down the bottom of the 3rd wash but then they took off and flew all the way back and over the car park. We did not see them land....

Ian, what part of Baston Fen did you see water pipits from?
Another post says "from the car park" and I looked in the first flooded grassland area after the trees but don't think I was in the right area ("Low Wash"). Any local knowledge would be great! Thanks. David

Thanks for additional info on location. I dropped in on my way to Deeping Lakes from Frampton but didn’t see any because I was in the wrong place.

Great view of one LEO around 4pm.

Today I saw 8 water pipits at Baston Fen LWT reserve.

For anyone going they are on flooded grassland at the end of the reserve - NGR TF 12685 16678.

I have a vague memory of seeing two water pipits at Marston STW many years ago, but eight in the same place must be exceptional?

Also, 4 LEO nearby at Deeping Lakes...
