Most conspicuous species on outer Cleethorpes Beach this morning was yellowhammer - up to 200 feeding on sand/ grass or perched on buckthorn. They looked great in the sunshine.

Slightly inland on the saltmarsh was a mixed flock of 200+ very mobile goldfinches and linnets (and/ or twite).

Meadow pipits, chaffinches and skylark were far less abundant but there were 30+ of both greenfinches and reed buntings. Starlings were also plentiful.

Also, a single kestrel perched on buckthorn.

I didn’t see any shorelarks or snow buntings (or grey shrikes!)

Nothing of note on the boating lake. On the lake in the country park, the number of gadwall has risen to eight. There was also one g-c grebe plus two curlew overhead.
