Those bushes look on the photo as are growing in the ditch, so are not on the sea flood bank defence

A few years ago, the Environment Agency spent a fortune removing hawthorn and other shrubs from the flood bank bordering the RSPB's Tetney Marshes reserves. But now they have  regrown, and it's once again a magnet for songbirds such as Sedge Warbler, Whitethroat, Linnet, Goldfinch and occasionally Dunnock, Wren and a perching Wheatear.

Unrelated but a female Hen Harrier and a Short-eared Owl were hunting on the marshes on Monday morning of this week.
