You're right Jacquie - in October, I saw four land in the saltmarsh at Cleethorpes leisure centre, but they didn't stay. I note that Spurn also had sightings at the same time. There seems to be a view that they may be semi-feral birds that have been visiting our shores from a collection of ornamental wildfowl in the Netherlands.

Cracking photos especially when blown up!
If whoever counted the 29k wigeon at Frampton recently took photos as good as yours and blew them up counting would be a lot easier.

Looks like they are to me, Jim, and haven't you seen some in area recently. Two have definitely been reported elsewhere near Tetney/Spurn in last few weeks.

Ruddy Shelduck flyover was created by Jim Wright
Plenty of Brent Geese in the sky over RSPB Tetney Marshes this morning and also a couple of what I reckon are Ruddy Shelduck.
