Sunday 10th June

Over the past week there have been successful hatching of broods of :-

Shelducks on 2/6
Oystercatchers on 4/6
Common Terns on 9/6

Peewits have also fledged some juveniles but in the past couple of days they are flocking into post breeding flocks indicating that the breeding season is over for this season at this site.

Avocet have made regular visits on most days with a maximum of 6 birds.

Caught up with my first Swallow of the year over the River Bain this afternoon.

Also in the area:-
2 Pairs of Avocets, first noted on 6th April
2 Pairs of Oystercatcher
Pair Shelduck
2 Pairs Shoveler
12 Teal
Several Lapwing
