We have had circa 300 around our caravan at Saltfleet this week. Numbers will probably build up over the next month or so.

When we first moved into this house 39 years ago we often had large flocks of Starlings on the lawn, 83 being the record. That is unheard of now, rarely 2 adults and maybe a couple of juveniles. They also used to do that thing were they put ants under their wings. The ants are still there!

Had 3 juvenile Starling on May 18th with six adults but very little since, none past two weeks. Assorted feeders available. They usually go on suet block and fat balls.

That's interesting, Alan.  Normally I see family groups in my Market Rasen garden at this time of year but I haven't seen a single one this year - I can't think of any reason why.

I do not known if this is happening elsewhere but we have never had so many starlings coming onto the garden to feed. It is not unusual to get 40 or 50 at a time including at least 20 juveniles. Seen more young starlings this year than ever before and they are very feisty.
The birds are a pleasure to watch with their feeding antics especially on the fat logs we have hung up.
