Thanks Pete.  I've just checked the latest annual ringing totals on the BTO website (2022) where over 300 foreign ringed Goldcrests were found in the UK including 8 from the Russian Federation!!

That's incredible Stuart, how can there be that much energy in 5.1 grams. No wonder they used to think Goldcrests arrived on the back of Woodcocks.

We've just received notification of the origin of a first year female Goldcrest caught by Martin Sizer at Donna Nook on 28th October 2023.  It was ringed 23 days earlier at Parnu maakond, Haademeestevaid, Kabli kuna, Estonia.  It had travelled 1599km. WSW and when re-trapped weighed just 5.1 grams!
