Siskins - have they all moved on?

I have just had an email from Alan Ball and he and Bob Sheppard have ringed just under 700 Siskins at Bourne since January.  Coupled with the 280 ringed by the Mid Lincs RG in Market Rasen and Louth, 1,000 Siskins ringed in the county so far this year is unprecedented.  Their origin is becoming more apparent as both Alan and Martin Sizer both caught birds ringed in Northumberland in January and March and Alan and I had birds re-trapped at Thetford less than two weeks after ringing.  Alan caught birds originally ringed in Latvia and Italy and we caught one from Norway.  With John Goy at Scunthorpe, Pete Locking at North Somercotes and others reporting similarly unprecedented totals at their feeders it seems they were all over the County.  Now I'll wait and see where they go to!
