I got a soaking mid-morning today in a failed mission to see the smew - perhaps it had moved on.

I had to make do with c20 tufted duck and c10 each of goldeneye, wigeon, cormorant and great crested grebe.

Also present were 3 redshank, a singing chiffchaff and a singing chaffinch.

Later, en route to the LBC AGM, there was a red kite feasting near Hainton on one of the numerous pheasant carcasses lining the A157.

He was still there this morning, same area. Also, found a true albino Squirrel, happily chasing/being chased around the hedgerows and trees at the base of the reservoir.
