They are there every day but numbers vary.  (Between 10 and 40)

Sorry about that. Market Rasen. We do have a plentiful supply of house sparrows, goldfinch, chaffinch and a few greenfinch.

Just since January I have regularly seen Tree Sparrows at Winter's Pond, near East Halton, on the feeders in the bungalow garden and in nearby trees and scrub.
I also have House Sparrows in my Cleethorpes garden, and they are plentiful around Buck Beck and Cleethorpes Country Park.

Thanks Dave, we used to have up to 30 Tree Sparrows between 1988 and 1999 in our garden in North Somercotes, even nesting in the boxes, and have not seen one since. You're right it is alarming, especially when nothing in the garden and surrounding gardens has changed. Mind you, we still have had only one single House Sparrow in the garden since Jan 1st. and I find that quite alarming. We sometimes have single figures of Siskin and Brambling but not so far this year.
PS you didn't say where your garden is.

Regards Pete

There were 30+ Siskins around the feeders this morning.  There were 6 brambling yesterday.  We’ve only had 1 redpoll since Christmas and no tree sparrows which is quite alarming as we usually reach double figures by this time of year.
