Hi Jim. Over the years, I have seen many coastal birds such as Little Egret, Golden Plover and Cormorant flying NW at the back of my house in Whites Road, Clps,
which initially seemed a little strange. It is a regular occurrence and I am of the opinion that they are merely cutting the corner and heading in a straight line to Pyewipe
from Tetney Marsh/Cleethorpes sea front, as opposed to heading inland. Take a look at the OS map and you'll see what I mean.

Passerines on outer beach this morning included 1 snow bunting, 2 stonechats and 5 yellowhammers.

There was also a significant passage of golden plover in flight over the shoreline. I counted c 600 in groups of 20 or 30, flying west up the Humber. As far as I could make out, they turned inland when they reached the leisure centre.
