Go on a day with very little wind and preferably a sunny one. 1-2 birds have roosted in the thick ivy-covered trees immediately to the right of the hide. If not there look in the ‘gully’, which is the narrow inlet of water to your right as you are walking to the hide. There is an obvious viewing point about 75m before the hide. ‘Scope the hawthorns with ivy on the opposite side of the water.

I'm planning a trip to Deeping Lake in a few days. Could anyone advise on the best time/location for seeing a long-eared Owl please?
