You’re too modest, Neil.
You were in the right place at the right time, and you looked in the right direction.
I don’t call that ‘sheer luck’ - I call it fieldcraft of the highest magnitude.

Bingo, indeed, Neil - seems like you had plenty of time to enjoy it.

I thought I saw one last week near Covenham, but wrote it off as It was against the sun and I couldn't be 100% certain!

Cleethorpes Osprey was created by Neil Kurz
Sat in my car in the car park near Buck Beck outfall at 1200 today when I saw a flock of waders taking to the air on the outer edge of the marsh. Picked up me goggles and saw a raptor being mobbed by a GBBG. It flew, unperturbed, towards me low over the marsh. It started to look interesting - a large, long-winged raptor with a relaxed, languid flight. More details became clearer as it got nearer and I could see that it was an Osprey! Bingo! It turned to follow the coast south towards Tetney Marsh, gaining height as it did. Seven years, almost to the day, since I saw one at the same location in the company of my old mate and legend, Bradders, who tragically died just a few weeks later. Memories
