A Whinchat was on the fence wires below the bank at Pyes Hall  late afternoon, then seen on bushes along the old railway when we walked back. Impressive numbers of Redshank (200+) and a large flock of linnets, numbering around 70, with Whitethroat and Greenfinch amongst them. also along the railway path.
