Why does it always rain on September 1?

Two calling whimbrel low over Cleethorpes' Parkway cinema at 8.50am today.

Ten minutes, a single whimbrel, also calling,  circled the leisure centre before flying in the direction of Spurn.

On the beach near the leisure centre at 9am shortly after high tide were c 100 common terns, 20 ringed plovers, 10 dunlin, 1 sanderling, 1 curlew. 12 bar-tailed godwit and 20 oystercatcher.

At the boating lake, a moorhen was still sitting on nest.
